I like to have this on hand if I need to give a horse bute or banamine for more than a couple days as it is proven to help guard against ulcers that can be caused by NSAIDs. I had to have a mare on bute for three weeks and had no problems with ulcers at all and I feel it was due to feeding this. I recommend it to all my friends. It’s also good to use when weaning a horse off omeprozole. I used to feed lecithin and apple pectin but the convenience of this is worth the little bit extra expense and the horses all seem to accept it readily

In less than one month our horse went from suspected ulcers, refusing to eat her grain at all, to eating it all and eating it first. Thank you Starting Gate!

UPDATE:5 Stars for customer service less 1 Star because my horse would not eat it.After posting my original review the company contacted me immediately offering a full refund. With that kind of customer service you definitely can afford to try this product.Not returnable so I wouldn't try it. My horse would not touch it. If he won't eat it it can't help him.

I started using this product last month and from what I see so far it might be helping my anxious horse. I have a rescue thoroughbred who, from what I understand throughout the years has always been at the bottom of the pecking order in herds. With that being said, he tends to get high anxiety from time to time which then worries me about ulcers.Since I've started my horse on this calming supplement, I will share that the last couple weeks I’ve noticed he's a little more at ease, especially during feeding time as he’s always been worried about other horses taking over his food even when they're no where near him.His stools have slightly improved as well as they’re not as soft and have more formation.I add the suggested amount into my horses grain with Equine Senior and some Beet Pulp and he loves it. Eats it right up.So far I am very pleased with the results and I’m going to buy another gallon to see where this goes.

So this is a gut supplement, and it seems to do its job relatively well. My gelding ate it right up and didn’t have any issues with the flavor or texture. However, I didn’t really notice any appreciable difference in his body condition or demeanor while he was on it or following that time.The ingredients are lecithin and pectin, which do have some research behind them, but given that these are the main active ingredients, I don’t know if I can justify repurchasing just for this. Additionally, the container at the listed feeding rate is supposed to last 3 weeks. I’m not sure if these supplements are accurately measured, but this barely lasted my horse a week and a half feeding the recommended amount on the container.Certainly better than a lot of gastric supplements out there but a lot to be desired.

My horses never hesitated to eat this. I throw it on their feed and they eat it right up. This makes feeding it easy. This goes a long way, making it a decent value.
