Great product, but minor functionality gripes take away 1 star.
The goods far outweigh the bad. But my review has more detail on the bad for your information.Good: Product works as described. The ends are unique and great. I have 100% confidence that it will hold. The locking mechanism makes sense and works as its supposed to. 5 stars in that sense. Clear instructions. No assembly required! Overall recommend if on a budget, but still want a good bar.-1 star.Bad: I think in order to sell it at its price point, they had to cheaply assemble the cosmetic and other little functional things. It doesn't affect the actual use of putting up somewhere securely, but its not designed with pure convenience in mind. For example, to extend the rod, you have to spin the bar. Makes sense. But it extends very very slowly with is more annoying than you think. Next, the "quick release" clamps are super cheap. They work though! I had the nut screw off when I was adjusting it. No big deal but it was annoying.Lastly, the bar is too thick to be an ergonomic pull up bar. Just slightly to thick. For the average person, the bar is too large to get a good grip. However, some people purposely buy bars like this to train their forearms, so maybe thats not exactly a con. I use this for rock climbing training so I like it like that.

Returned
I had to return it because no matter how much I tightened it, it continually spun and loosened

Great and easy to use! A little slippery on painted frames- but really great product!
My painted door frames made it slip just a bit before i tightened the bar to negate that. All in all a solid product and does the job!

The real McCoy. A viable setup for especially wide doorframes.
I was dubious when following the instructions provided and went to previous reviews to see if anyone else had the same issue. The instructions direct you to twist from each end in order to extend it, while holding it in place in the doorway until there is resistance. Doing this led to a janky setup—the right side kept slipping. However, the instructions here explain that you must tighten the bar further by twisting it *from the center. This is what did the trick, I knew that thing wasn’t moving. Smooth sailing from here (if it helps, my doorframe is about 36 1/4” wide). The instructions do warn you to tighten before every use.Tip: Not only is the bar thicker than a standard pull-up bar at the gym, but the “grip” straps provided are trash. Pair this purchase with some grip tape.

This is NOT for every doorframe
This chin-up bar is OK. But it's not for every door frame. If you have a wood door frame, it will dent it. And if you have a metal door frame- it'd better be VERY solid. Because this piece of equipment will actually knock it out of whack, as I learned the hard way. I ended up with a very expensive repair.

Broke on first use.
Product broke on me on the very first use. I’m 130lbs so it’s not that i’m not the ideal weight for this bar. I will be returning it.
