Q: Do you think this plant would look well in a large heavy glass vase? Perhaps 14-16-18 inches tall?

If it is a clear vase. I would think you'd want to fill most of it with some pretty filler in the vase and have the plant out of the top to show the cool trunk. I think you could get away with the tall 18" if it isn't too wide of a diameter. The picture I shared is a 10" tall and 4-1/2" diameter plastic container I threw together to give you a visual. Hopefully this helps

Q: Will this work for a long narrow table sofa ? I have a table lamp and picture resting on the wall and just wanted a touch of green .

I think that it would work fine. Its not too large so depending on how large the sofa table, it would probably be just right.

Q: Can’t you stand it as is, or do you need a container?

It can stand by itself. I put it in a metal container with nothing else inside it.

Q: Can I use this outdoor?

Yes, I have it outside at my water/pond.
