High Quality
My fiancee is a chocoloholic but has very high standards for the taste of protein powders. I have high standards for the ingredients in protein powders. The dark chocolate from California Gold is our favorite protein powder and one of the only two brand/flavors that we both like.In addition to the the protein powder itself, the packaging is very high quality. This is important if, like me, you have noticed with other brands that the protein starts to smell bad when you're close to finishing a bag/carton.To the health-conscious (but not diabetic) people that may be turned off by the 6 grams of sugar, ask yourself this: if you could only have one meal that has a little added sugar to it, which one would it be? For me, it would be my protein shakes after exercising: when my body will allocate simple sugars toward muscle repair, and when the dopamine spike from the sugar will reinforce the habit of exercising.

California Gold Nutrition: Budget Protein or a Bad Investment?
California Gold Nutrition markets itself as an affordable whey isolate, but does it really stack up? While it delivers 27g of protein per scoop, transparency issues can’t be ignored. The testing is in-house through iTested—a subsidiary of iHerb—raising concerns about objective quality control. The high BCAA count in California Gold Nutrition Whey Protein Isolate also suggests potential amino spiking, and an oversized scoop reduces actual servings.📌 Key Takeaways:💰 Budget-Friendly, But at a Cost – California Gold Nutrition offers affordability, but transparency is questionable.🚩 Potential Amino Spiking – California Gold Nutrition Whey Protein Isolate has an unusually high BCAA-to-protein ratio.🔬 No True Third-Party Testing – Testing is handled in-house, meaning no unbiased verification.🥄 Misleading Scoop Size – A 25% larger scoop means you’re getting fewer servings than advertised.👉 Final Word: California Gold Nutrition Whey Protein Isolate is a passable budget option, but quality-conscious buyers should look elsewhere. For verified transparency and reliable sourcing, there are better choices available.

WTF is their both stevia AND sugar?
I was excited to see a protein powder that uses sugar as a sweetener. I dont mind a few grams of sugar if it makes it taste better. I hate artificial sweeteners and typically buy unflavored. Excited to see this brand uses real sugar, but they also use stevia. This stuff tastes disgusting. It is really just awful. I am throwing away the bag I bought, it is that bad.Dont waste your money. If you like stevia, then buy a better protein that doesn't add sugar. WASTE OF MONEY
